2017 HBCU Graduation Ceremonies



This may, several colleges and universities are holding graduation commencement in the Central North Carolina area. These institutions are proud members of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission and are representing North Carolina well with their accomplishments over the past year. With that being said, let’s congratulate both students and faculty of these institutions.

These institutions are proud members of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission.

Located in downtown Raleigh, Shaw University is first on our list. Known for their stellar Social Work program, Shaw University has been one of the most popular HBCU’s in the North Carolina area for decades. Shaw University’s Commencement exercise will be held in the Raleigh Convention Center on Saturday, May 13 starting at 10:00 a.m.

Next up on our list is NCCU, or North Carolina Central University. Located in Durham, NC, this university is said to be rich and culture with access to such a robust “mini-city.” NCCU’s Commencement Ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. in McDougald-McLendon Area in Durham, NC.

North Carolina AT State University is third on the list. Located in Greensboro, NC, this university is known for specializing in agriculture and technical’s. Commencement will begin at 8:30 a.m. for undergraduates and 12:00 p.m. for graduate students at the Greensboro Coliseum located on West Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro, NC.

Saint Augustine University’s Commencement is going to be held at 9:00 a.m. in the institution’s Quadrangle building. Located near several well-established museums, parks, restaurants and theaters, this university is said to thrive in an ideal area for a young adult for obvious reasons.

To add to the last point, Raleigh’s outstanding public transportation system definitely enables students to be as mobile as they please.

Last on our list is Fayetteville State University, located in Fayetteville, NC. Located in Fayetteville, NC, this university is known for it’s dominant range of athletics. Commencement will take place May 13 th , 2017 at the Crown Coliseum at 9:00 a.m.
